Billie Buckner Burger

Billie Buckner Burger, 79, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in Savannah, daughter of the late Lonnie G. and Jessie Thompson Buckner. Mrs. Burger was a devoted wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She was the wife of a career officer having followed him throughout his military career, a loving homemaker and was of the Catholic faith.

Surviving are her husband of 54 years, Lt. Col. William H. Burger, USAF Ret. of Savannah; two daughters and sons-in-law, Bridgett and George Arpin of Woodbine, GA; Harriett and William R. Bowens, Jr. of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Mary DuBose of Savannah; grandchildren, Megan Rachelle Arpin of Savannah; William Michael Arpin of Woodbine, GA; Emily Worthe Bowens of Jacksonville, FL; nephew, William DuBose of Savannah; niece, Donnette Boykin of Pace, FL; great nieces and nephew, Danielle and Erica DuBose of Savannah and Russell Boykin of Augusta, GA.

Visitation: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral: 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2011 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors conducted by Father Jeremiah McCarthy.

Burial: Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park.
